Tool Tip

The brayer is a hand roller that was originally used in the offset printing process. Luckily for us, we can easily use it to apply ink to a large rubber stamp or create a custom background for our projects. It is very easy to use, and clean up is a snap!
1. Spread ink onto a stamp case or glass, either by rolling directly from the ink pad or by using a few drops of re-inker.
2. Roll the brayer through the ink, going in different directions, until the roller is coated evenly with ink.
3. Roll brayer across stamp, being sure to cover image completely.
4. Stamp your image.
5. Run brayer through running water to clean. Let air dry.
Note: some darker inks may stain the brayer's roller, which can be unsightly, but doesn't affect its use.

There are so many cool things you can do with this tool. I will have more on some fun ways to use the brayer coming up next week along with project pictures, so stay tune.
