tagging stars

Picking through the trash around here can sometimes become a fast and simple gift tag.

I started out with a 1 1/2" x 2 3/4"  tag. Then using 2 different blues, Tempting Turquoise & Island Indigo ink from Stampin' Up just sponge the inks all over the tag go as dark or light as you want. I like to use 2 to 3 colors all in the same color family. By using more then just one color you create depth.

So here is where the trash part of this tag comes in. I pulled a piece of tissue paper & a piece of watercolor paper out of my recycling bin. Ok so it wasn't the trash, but still it was all headed to the big bin at the top of the driveway. Using a big star punch with the tissue paper and a very small star punch with the watercolor paper I punched out a few stars.

Using some washi tape attach the tissue paper star to the sponged gift tag.I used 3 different ones, you can use 1 or 2 different kinds.

To make the smaller star stand out a little bit attach 1/2 of a dimensional to the small watercolor paper star and place on the big tissue paper star to finish up this fast & simple tag.
